This small selection of ethically produced organically tanned buffalo leather bags are part of our "Make A Difference" collection. Each piece is handmade in Nepal following traditional tanning and craft practices. All cloth used is hand woven in Nepal using traditional craft techniques on a backstrap loom.
In Nepal it is against the law to eat cows, so buffalo are eaten in place of beef. The hide of the buffalo is a by-product of meat production. After a lengthy process of tanning using organic materials it is turned into leather, which is then crafted by hand into a range of amazing pieces including these handbags.
